On Tuesday, Sept. 16, ALDI is launching a limited-edition “ALDI Big Bag”, an oversized, reusable grocery bag – because bigger savings mean bigger hauls, and bigger hauls mean you need a bigger bag. 

Just how big are the savings at ALDI? A family of four can save $321 a month by shopping its aisles.*

Because bigger savings mean bigger hauls, and bigger hauls mean our shoppers need a bigger bag. ALDI is giving away the ALDI Big Bag to prove a simple point: your money goes further when you shop the lowest prices of any national grocer.  

It might be a metaphor for massive savings, but the ALDI Big Bag is literally big enough to unload your grocery haul in just one trip.

The bag is 36 inches long, 22 inches wide and 16 inches deep. Translation? That’s bigger than a carry-on suitcase, about the size of an aquarium tank and three times the size of a common paper grocery bag.

An average grocery bag holds about $45 to $50 worth of food. We did the math and scaled up to create a bag big enough to hold $321 worth of groceries — the exact amount a family of four can save each month by shopping at ALDI.

The $321 comes straight from the 2025 ALDI Price Leadership Report, which shows a family of four can save nearly $4,000 a year by shopping at ALDI. That’s real money — and we wanted to make it feel real. Most families budget month to month, so we broke that annual number down to create an oversized bag that’s a visual metaphor of all you can get and save.
